less + 원급 + than — 더 적게 ~한
-er 의 반대 의미.
✓ He is less tall than me. (= 그는 나보다 덜 크다 = 나보다 작다)
✓ This is less interesting than that.
less + 원급 vs 비교급 + than 차이는 거의 없으나 less 가 약간 격식·완곡.
비교급 강조 — much / even / far / a lot
much, even, far, a lot, still + 비교급. very 는 X.
✓ He is much taller than me.
✗ He is very taller than me. (very + 비교급 X)
✓ This is even better.
✓ The new model is far more expensive.
very 는 원급에만, much 는 비교급에.
비교 대상 — 같은 격·구조 일치
✗ My hair is longer than my sister. (내 머리 vs 내 동생 사람 — 비대칭)
✓ My hair is longer than my sister's. (내 머리 vs 동생의 머리)
✓ My hair is longer than that of my sister. (격식)
비교 대상이 같아야 자연.
점점 더 ~ — 비교급 and 비교급
